NBA Star, Jason Kidd, Crashes To A Telephone Booth While Drunk Driving In New York
New York – The NBA veteran, Jason Kidd, was arrested for driving under influence last Sunday in New York.
The accident took place in Water Mill, NY in the Hamptons. According to various accounts, after attending Ne-Yo and George Lucas’s benefit “Fostering a Legacy”, Kidd was seen at the club SL East where witnesses stated he had been consuming vast amounts of vodka. He was spotted to leave the club at approximately 1 a.m.
A couple of minutes before 2 a.m. the police discovered the thirty nine year old in his wrecked Cadillac Escalade. He had collided his Cadillac into a telephone pole booth and skidded into the underbrush. According to the Southampton town police, Kidd refused to submit to a Breathalyzer test following the incident.
Kidd who had signed a three year $9.5 million contract with the New York Knicks last week, is presently admitted to a local hospital where he is being treated for minor injuries.
The NBA star was arrested for misdemeanor driving under the influence. He was arraigned on the charge and released on his own recognizance at 6 a.m.
Kidd, who is a California native, has a summer home in the Hamptons.
