Interviewer: When you get arrested and charged with domestic violence related charges what are the typical release conditions when you’re in jail? Do you have a bail? Are you not allowed to contact the victim? What happens normally?
Eric: We like to think that the bail situation should not be any different for a domestic violence case than it is for any other case. Bail is there to make sure you come back to court. So, most often in the domestic violence cases the bail is not a high bail, provided that the charges do not include a serious act of violence.
